Rich City Kids Virtual Creative Writing Workshop VERSE1 | 8yrs - 12yrs old

As a community and individuals, we are facing interesting times that continue to impact and change our lives. From in-school closures, Covid-19, the intense presidential election, loved ones losing employment and businesses closing - families are doing their best to grapple with it all. But how are the children handling it all? Our children's voices are seldom heard without being silenced or taken seriously. Yet they are the future leaders of this world. Their well-being and emotional support is most important and our responsibility. This is where the Rich City Kids Organization comes in!

The Rich City Kids Organization is organizing a FREE 2-day virtual creative writing workshop on Zoom taught by music artist and educator of 10 years - Antoinette "JLyric" Evans. This 2-day workshop will focus on providing a virtual creative platform for children to discuss and write how they feel about recent events occuring in our world. During these two days students will also learn self-refelction and language skills while having fun with a cool teacher and other cool kids! This workshop will consist of the following learning goals:

1. Self-reflection and self-love strategies

2. Understanding antonyms, synonyms, affixes and rhyming words

3. Creating a biography rap/poem

4. Meeting new people and overcoming shyness

5. Learning the different elements and types of poetry
